HI I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT LAST YEAR ON 4/24/2011. THE CAR THAT HIT ME LEFT THE SEEN. MY
CAR WAS TOTAL.

Additional Details:
I HAD TO GO THREW MY OWN INSURANCE, WHICH WAS FIFTEEN THOUSAND FOR AN ACCIDENT THE CASE HAS SETTLE
A DAY AGO . IM LEFT WITH 7,000. I WENT TO THERAPY SINCE THE ACCIDENT IM STILL IN ALOT OF PAIN . THE
QUESTION IS CAN I SUE THE STATE. BEING THE OTHER CAR LEFT.AND THAT I WAS ON THE STREET OF NEWARK NJ
AT A LIGHT.. THEY HAVE CAMERAS EVERY WHERE IN THIS TOWN EXCEPT IN THE AREA I WAS IN. IM LEFT WITH A
BACK BULGE AND TWO DISK PROBLEM
Legal Topic Area: Personal Injury in NJ

I do not think that is a viable cause of action on the facts. Beyond this, the Newark probably has immunity under the NJ Tort Claims Act for decisions about how to allocate these kinds of resources. Finally, if your UM claim was the subject of litigation, you are probably barred from suing anyone else under the entire controversy doctrine.
