Need help of resolving suspended license in california for a failure to appear for a fix it ticket.
What should i do

Additional Details:
I recently found out that license was suspended 3 years ago. I have not been notified until i went
in to get a replacement for a stolen id from a robbery. I was told that my license was suspended for
past 3 years for a code that reflected fix it ticket for a missing front license plate. I had fixed
and had this signed off years ago. What do i need to do right now i have no license and need to
drive for my work. They have not sent any notifications to inform me of license suspension or
failure to appear, What steps should i take to resolve.

Make sure you have the license plate in place and that your registration is up to date. Get a proof from the CHP or County Sheriff that you have fixed that item. If you don't have your original ticket get a copy from the court where the case is filed against you. File your proof of compliance with the court.

Your inability to get your driver's license issued to you probably means that there is a bench warrant issued for you because you did not comply with the ticket and failed to appear at the assigned court date. If you already have your original proof of compliance, file that with the court. While you are there, you will need to ask the Clerk for a statement of how much of a fine plus penalty assessments you may owe. If you want to ask for a reduction, or to contest that you owe it, ask to see a judge (go late morning or mid afternoon - not at the time that everyone else who is there for traffic offenses is in the courtroom). Once you have taken care of whatever is left, the bench warrant will probably be recalled and you will be given a release of the hold or other evidence of the recall of the bench warrant so that the DMV will issue you a replacement license.

Good luck!
