Daniel B. Ross

Q.

How long can I wait to file a case against a company?

-- Anonymous

A.

Statutes of limitations are laws that set the deadline or maximum period of time within which a lawsuit may be filed. Each state in the US, as well as Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands has its own specific statutes of limitations, which can vary widely. Additionally, the statute of limitations are specific to the cause of action.
