Questions To Ask Before Hiring An Attorney

Ask your attorney a few questions before you hire him or her.  If you’re going to bring another person into the mix, you need to know he or she is part of the solution.

What is your experience in the field? 
Note: You want someone who practices in the area of law where you have an issue.  You want someone who has a proven track record.  Ask to hear some examples.

What are the possible outcomes of my case?  
Note: You want an attorney who is honest and can tell you exactly what to expect.

How long will this take to resolve?  
Note: A lawsuit in San Jose may take months or even years - not all of them do, but you need to prepare for an  emotional trial.

How will we communicate?  
Note: If you love email and your attorney loves email, you two might be a great match.  If you hate the phone, but your attorney likes to talk things out, you may need a different style.

Remember, you need a San Jose legal practice that works for you, and with you.
