At Galfand Berger,we are a Philadelphia personal injury firm that applauds and fosters the efforts of
those within our organization to help others and give back to the community. I am proud to share
news regarding the charitable fundraising efforts of one of our lawyers, Philadelphia personal injury
attorney, Arthur Bugay. In the past Arthur has run marathons in Philadelphia,
Chicago, Baltimore and Maryland to raise money for both the American Diabetes Association
(“ADA”) and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training
(“TNT”).
This year, to honor his mother, Margaret Bugay, who died in August
2008 after complications from Diabetes, Arthur is participating in several races to raise funds for
the American Diabetes Association. The ADA will receive a matching sponsorship from the Janus
Charity challenge for the same amount Arthur raises, which to date is nearly $10,000!
This July, he completed his first Ironman Triathlon, the 11th Annual Lake Placid Ford Ironman.
This grueling race includes a 2.4 mile swim, a 112 mile bicycle race, and a 26.2 mile marathon run.
Arthur completed this event in only 14 hours and 5 minutes!
In addition to and in preparation for the Lake Placid Ford Ironman, Arthur has competed in eight other races in several different states. In the fall he will participate in the Philadelphia Distance Run held in September as well as the Philadelphia Marathon in November. For all these events, he pays his own way, including registration for travel and lodging. To contribute to his fundraising, please contact him at abugay@galfandberger.com or you can donate directly.
