In my previous post I introduced the topic of additional sources of recovery in relation to accidents that result in serious injury. The first source of recovery discussed was holding commercial establishments responsible who have served alcohol in drunk driving accidents. Another instance that our Philadelphia car accident attorneys often encounter is when a bad roadway contributes to or is at fault in a motor vehicle accident.
Sometimes a roadway is poorly designed or maintained and this causes an accident. Examples of these kinds of claims are:
In any claim against the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation or a local government responsible for a roadway, you must give notice of your claim within six months of the accident. This notice must contain specific information and be sent to the proper agency or office. If you do not give notice within the six month time limit, you cannot pursue your claim in Court.
If you or someone you love has been injured in an auto accident, you should contact an experienced accident attorney, who can help you obtain just compensation for your injuries and explore additional sources of recovery such as whether a bad roadway was the cause of your car or motor vehicle accident.
