In September a construction worker was injured
and lost his life while working on the 22nd floor of an apartment building in Seattle.
He was working a crew dismantling the building due to serious construction
defects. While the exact circumstances
of the injury are unclear, reports indicate that exposed rebar inflicted an
injury to the victim’s neck.
Late Sunday night, October 10, a pickup truck traveling
eastbound on state Route 302 crossed into oncoming traffic striking an SUV. The
driver of the SUV was killed and her teenage passenger was injured and taken to
the hospital.
The accident is being investigated as a possible vehicular
homicide.
The Washington State Court of Appeals recently ruled that a
lawsuit against King County dating to 2006 alleging an improperly designed bus
stop should proceed to trial.
In 2006 the victim was sitting in a shelter at a bus
stop in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle when two cars collided in the
adjacent intersection, with one of them subsequently careening into the bus
stop.
Charges recently were filed arising out of a
horrible traffic accident that took the life of 57-year old Douglas
Lefever. Mr. Lefever was crossing the
street in his motorized wheelchair within the confines of a marked crosswalk
near the Magnolia Bridge in the Interbay neighborhood of Seattle when he was
